We have a number of volunteer opportunities available at Muslim Family Services of Ohio. We provide training and prospective volunteers can take advantage of our flexibility in the number of hours and location they wish to contribute. Opportunities are available for adults as well as for students in need of service hours.

Here's a list of some of our current volunteer programs:

Community Food Drives

Our goal is to collect 'non-perishable' food items for families in need. Neighborhood team leaders are needed, dates are flexible. Team leaders organize a drive in their area, setting dates, gathering volunteers and delivering collections to Muslim Family Services of Ohio. This is a great activity for student participants and a Food Drive can be completed in less than one week.

Annual Eid Toy Program

Come join our annual Eid toy project! We are always in need of volunteers to collect toys and funds, as well as gift wrapping. All gifts are labeled so that we can provide an age and gender appropriate gift to children in families who may be struggling to provide for their basic needs.

Tax Preparation Program

Muslim Family Services of Ohio is a participant in a program through the Ohio Association of Foodbanks that will provide us with resources to help families file their taxes FREE OF CHARGE! Workshop dates from January through April will be set according to volunteer availability. If you would like to volunteer in this program FREE TRAINING is provided! Please let us know of your interest before October so we can set up the training. All training is done online.

Annual Winter Coat Drive

Muslim Family Services of Ohio has been networking with local Masjids to collect, clean, sort and distribute winter coats, gloves and hats to those in our community in need. Help us provide these items so that all our families have the necessary items to withstand the cold winter months here in Ohio !

Gather and Give Program

Help us gather new and gently used clothing and household goods for those who can use them. We are always in need of volunteers to sort donations so that our stock is organized, clean and in good repair. As our organization grows we will need a Volunteer Coordinator for inventory control of these 'in kind' donations.

Welcome Basket Program (or Care Kit Program)

Muslim Family Services of Ohio would like to formally establish this program to provide a small supply of basic items to our clients. These kits would be held in reserve to be available when needed, contain non-perishable foods and personal care items. Volunteer team leaders are needed to supervise this program in order to collect items or funds and work with volunteers to maintain a small supply of baskets for use.

Please contact our Administrator at mfsohioadm@ohiomfs.org or 614-470-2848 to volunteer, request more information or even suggest a new program!

Insha'Allah we'll look forward to hearing from you!
